I’m the owner of ALC. The last (almost) 8 years of my life have been dedicated to solving your denim dilemmas. Prior to that you would have found me working in other retailers and studying all things fashion!
My Style Icon has to be Olivia Palermo. She’s the type that could wear a bin bag and make it look good and is an advocate of Paige and Frame Denim. Or someone French like Emmanuelle Alt, she always looks effortless in jeans and a simple shirt!
My favourite brand in the store is it’s too hard to pick a favourite! I own jeans from all of the brands that we carry and my favourite just depends on how I feel that day.
I style denim based on what I’m doing that day and night!I love a relaxed fit in Summer, and I’m a huge fan of boyfriend jeans with flats or heels and a feminine top. High-rise skinny jeans are a wardrobe staple for me as they work with all footwear and show off all figures well!
My denim advice would be to never assume the way to denim heaven is to keep an open mind. One of my favourite things is to surprise a customer with something they never expected to fit. I’d also advise to look after your jeans like you would your favourite piece of clothing – treat them well and they’ll make you look and feel great for longer.

Hey! I'm Gill and I joined the team in February of this year. Most of my experience has been in fashion retail and along with that I'm a self trained photographer in film & digital. Much more comfortable behind the lens!
My style icon is Jane Birken, I love her classic laid-back French style.
My favourite brand in store is Essentiel Antwerp, I love their classic chunky knits and the way they clash prints and colour.
My favourite way to style denim, always high waisted straight, leg vintage wash. For summer with sandals and a tee, and in the winter the same jeans with black boots and black polo neck.
My denim advice is you have to try on loads until you find the one that suits your shape best, never be disheartened if the style you pictured doesn't work out, we'll find you the perfect pair and don't be afraid to try something new.
Kirsten - Sales Advisor
Hiya! I'm Kirsten, I joined the team at ALC in May this year as a sales advisor. I'm a business student and I'm hoping to work in fashion marketing after I graduate.
My style icon is, I love Lizzy Hadfield and Lindsey Holland, they are two fashion bloggers who are also best friends, I love their effortlessly chic style.
My favourite brand is Samsoe & Samsoe, I love their knitwear and the silhouettes of their skirts are always fab, and I like how detailed their prints are.
My favourite way to style denim - I love pairing my jeans with a crop top and trainers in summer, I'm a fan of a wide leg, high waisted cut. In winter I love to pair my jeans with a big jumper and Dr Martens.
My denim advice is don't be afraid to try new styles it takes a lot of trying on to find what you like but there is something for every one!
